French CutAlliance Française “Le Corbusier” de Chandigarh in association with The Indian Express is holding a Eric Rohmer Film Festival (subtitled in English) from 6th October to 10th October, Alliance Française de Chandigarh, next to Hibiscus Garden- Sector 36 A. October 6 saw the screening of Charlotte et son steak (Charlotte and Her Steak), La carrière de Suzanne (Suzanne’s Career) and Le genou de Claire (Claire’s Knee).Movie lovers can catch Le beau mariage (The Good Marriage), at 5.30 pm on October 7. It’s a story about Sabine, an Art History student who wants to “marry well’’ and Edmond, who just happens to be ‘’handsome, young and available’’. On October 8 Nadja à Paris (Nadja in Paris), will be screened at 3.30 pm. Also, La boulangère de Monceau (The Girl at the Monceau Bakery), a young man’s narrative of his lost love and what follows and Pauline à la plage (Pauline at the Beach) about recently divorced Marion’s encounter with Pierre, her ex-lover (5.30 pm).L’ami de mon amie (My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend) will be screened on October 9 at 5.30 pm, an interesting take on relationships between Blanche, Le`a, Alexandria, Adrienne, while the final day will showcase a special documentary day about Eric Rohmer- La fabrique du conte d’été (The Making of the summer’s tale) at 3.30 pm and Eric Rohmer preuves à l’appui at 5.30 pm.
