Left cares more for China: BJP

BJP president Rajnath Singh has said that the Communist Party of India, through statements like 8216;Indo-US civilian nuclear deal would make India a US outpost against China8217;, was sending out a message that it was more concerned about the Chinese interests.

8220;The Left parties are showing their true colours with such statements. Ever since the idea of the nuclear deal has been mooted, they have consistently indicated that it was more concerned about protecting China8217;s interests than our own national and strategic interests,8221; Singh said in a statement.

The BJP president further said, 8220;Our party is opposed to the proposed nuclear deal on pure nationalistic grounds. Playing the role of a constructive opposition party, the BJP has vociferously protested against certain provisions of the proposed deal that could jeopardise our long-term strategic sovereignty and interests.8221;
