
ISLAMABAD, JUNE 24: Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has accused the court 8212; which has frozen her properties 8212; of colluding with Accountability Bureau chief and Premier Nawaz Sharif8217;s close aide Saifur Rehman.
An agitated Bhutto, who appeared before the two-member Special Accountability Bench of the Lahore High Court yesterday, alleged that the court passed orders against her without giving her a just hearing.
She alleged that her accounts and properties had been frozen after Senator Rehman met the judges.She said, 8220;One day Senator Saifur Rehman met the judges and the next day my accounts were frozen.8221;
Media reports said that in reply to Bhutto8217;s accusations, one of the judges on the bench, Justice Amjad Ali, retorted, 8220;We have not seen the face of Saifur Rehman.8221; Rehman, a former business ally of Sharif, is in-charge of the Accountability Bureau, specially set up to look into all corruption cases of the previous Bhutto regime.The court had earlier frozen all assets, properties andbank accounts of Bhutto, her husband Asif Zardari and other family members in the alleged corruption case involving awarding of exclusive gold import licence to Dubai-based Ary Gold Company.
