NEW DELHI, June 9: The Anti-Corruption Branch ACB of the Delhi government has arrested labour inspector Y.P. Taneja, while he was reportedly accepting a Rs 1,000 bribe from a man named Suresh Jindal yesterday.

According to the ACB, Suresh Jindal of Tri Nagar who runs a PVC shoe factory named Jindal Paradox, had four dies stolen from his factory premises on May 29. A report was registered at the Shanti Nagar police post. He reportedly told the ACB that after the robbery, his workers 8211; Vasudev, Raja Ram and Arvind stopped coming to the factory.

Y.P. Taneja, the labour inspector, served a notice and asked Jindal to visit him. When contacted, Y.P. Taneja, showed him a complaint filed by four of the workers stating that they had been removed from the job.

Taneja allegedly offerred to mediate and bring about a compromise. He demanded a Rs 1,000 bribe for this. A raid was organised by the ACB after Taneja was contacted by the complainant at the labour union office and was being handed over the bribe money. A case has been registered and Taneja has been arrested.
