CHANDIGARH, Oct 6: Khalsa Sporting Football Club blanked Chandigarh Police 2-0 to lift the title in the Chandigarh Senior football league championship which concluded here today at the Government Model School in Sector 23.KSFC lads who struggled to score 2-1 win over Government College-46 in their semifinal encounter yesterday, played like true champions right from the kick off and forge ahead in the opening minutes of the contest when Sukhbir Singh beat goalkeeper Mukesh to push the ball into the goal.Down by 1-0 city cops made inroads into the rival territory but KSFC's strong brick-wall like defence kept the opponents at bay.But on the counter-attack KSFC got their second goal in the 22nd minute through Jagjit Singh which sealed the cop's fate in the meet.In the second session, city cops attacked the rival citadel on several occasions but were unable to reduce the margin. Manish of Chandigarh Police missed a sitter in the later part of the second session.Handball tourneyThe Chandigarh Handball Association (CHA) will organise 13th Junior State meet in boys and girls section from October 21 to 23, at the DAV School in Sector 8.
