SAS NAGAR, May 25: Kamal Walia and captain Krishan Mohan were in fine form as Mohali piled up an impressive 418 for six against Sangrur in the inaugural Punjab Minor District Cricket Tournament at the PCA Stadium here today. Besides scoring individual centuries, they were associated for 181-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Kamal Walia, who was run out, stayed at the wicket for 238 minutes and hit nine sixes om 175 deliveries. Captain Krishan Mohan, whose strokeful 113 contained 11 fours and one six off 133 deliveries in 147 minutes, was in top form. He punished all Sangrur bowlers.

Earlier openers Ravi Kumar (44) and Sukhwinder Singh (36) gave Mohali a sound start by putting up 94 runs before Sukhwinder was caught by Shahid in cover of the bowling of Rajesh. Kailash Chander (65, including eigth fours) also helped Mohali swell its total.

Meanwhile, Punjab Cricket Association secretary M P Pandove announced that the second round of the Punjab Inter-District Cricket Tournament, consisting all five major districts — Chandigarh, Amritsar, Patiala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Minor district champions will be played from May 31 to June 20. The matches would be played at different district headquarters. The teams will play against each others in two days and one-day matches. The PCA secretary also announced the draw.

Two-day matches draw:
May 31 and June 1: Amritsar v Ludhiana at Ludhiana (umpires Umesh Kumar and H S Sekhon); Jalandhar v Chandigarh at SAS Nagar (umpires M S Mehal and Jasbir Singh), Patiala v MDC at Patiala (umpires Anttar Attam and YP Tiwari).
June 4 and 5: Amritsar v Chandigarh at SAS Nagar (umpires MS Mehal and Jasbir Singh), Patiala v Jalandhar at Patiala (umpires Anttar Attam and YP Tiwari), MDC vs Ludhiana at Ludhiana (umpires Umesh Kumar and HS Sekhon).
June 9 and 10: Amritsar v Jalandhar at Jalandhar (umpires Arun Passi and Savinder Batish), Ludhiana vs Patiala at Patiala (umpires Anil Panda and Inder Mohan), Chandigarh v MDC at SAS Nagar (umpires Jasbir Singh and Desh Raj).
