
PUNE, May 7: Athletes from the Krida Prabodhini, Pune reaped in a rich harvest pocketing a total of 21 medals which included 11 gold in the the Maharashtra State Sub-Junior athletic meet at Amravati on May 2 and 3.
The meet organised under the aegis of the Poona District Amateur Athletics Association PDAAA saw the Krida Prabodhini students excel on all fronts with 14 of the 18 participants who took part turned in a medal.
The boys section managed 8 medals which included Adhinarayan8217;s double gold winning performance in the long jump and high jump of the under-14 section. The girls comparatively fared better garnering 13 medals. Thumbli Paradke was the best athlete on show winning three golds in the under-12 age group the 100m, 300m and Shot Put, while Trupti Lad had to her name a sprint double in the under-10 section.

Meanwhile, Snehal Sawant of SAI-Muktangan did the city proud winning a total of five medals which included three gold medals. She struck gold in the long jump with a leap of 4.50 mts, high jump 1.20 mts and helped the 4215;100 relay team to a first place. In the 100m sprint Shehal who is a IXth standard student of Renuka Swaroop H.S picked up a silver with a 13.3s effort and hurled the shot put to a distance of 7.89 meters.
