MASON, OHIO, AUG 5: Last year8217;s Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek defeated this year8217;s losing finalist Cedric Pioline 6-3, 6-4 here yesterday to reach the second round of the 2.3 million ATP championship.

The 12th-seeded Dutchman moved into a clash with Czech Martin Damm at the seventh of the year8217;s Super-9 tournaments. He fired a blistering passing shot to seal the victory in just over an hour, with 11 aces and 28 winners.The defeat was the fourth of the day for French players.
