Ramboutllet, Feb 23: A new round of Kosovo peace talks appears on the cards, despite the deadline set by major powers for an agreement to the crisis ending today, according to comments from several participants.

US state department spokesman James Rubin said Secretary of State Madeleine Albright was meeting today with the ethnic Albanian delegation to assess their position before the parley suspends8217;. Rubin stressed the talks at Rambouillet chateau were only a chapter8217; in a longer peace process.
