Keshubhai to reply after receiving copy of notice

The veteran BJP leader, issued a notice for hurting the party's interests in the polls, said that he will give a reply once he receives its copy.

Veteran BJP leader Keshubhai Patel, who has been issued a show cause notice by the party for hurting its interests in the Gujarat assembly elections, on Saturday said that he will give a reply to it once he receives its copy.

Speaking to reporters this morning, the former Chief Minister said, “It would have been better if I had been summoned (to Delhi) for my views (my clarification)”.

Keshubhai’s statement comes in the wake of the show cause notice issued to him by the central leadership of the party on Friday, asking him to reply within seven days.

The BJP initiated action against four leaders including Keshubhai, for hurting party’s interests during the assembly polls.

Besides Keshubhai, the party had also issued notice to Member of Parliament Kashiram Rana and had suspended two of its MPs– Vallabh Kathiria and Soma Patel.

Keshubhai had compared Modi with Hitler’ and had also said that a “mini-emergency like situation” prevailed in Gujarat during the run up to the state elections.

Also, the Sardar Patel Utkarsh Samiti came out with a number of advertisements with Keshubhai’s appeal in the vernacular newspapers just a few days ahead of the elections, calling for a “change in the dictatorial regime”.
