US Democratic Presidential candidate John F. Kerry won the Nevada and District of Columbia caucuses on Saturday as he escalated his fight with President Bush while his rivals struggled to scrounge enough money and support to keep the race for the Democratic nomination alive beyond the Tuesday primary in Wisconsin.

Kerry ripped into the Bush administration for practising 8216;8216;attack politics8217;8217;, continuing to shift from Democratic primary politics toward a general election showdown with a sitting president.

8216;8216;With George Bush8217;s bad record, with his lack of vision, he has no choice but to resort to attack politics,8217;8217; Kerry said in remarks prepared for delivery at the annual Jefferson-Jackson fund-raising dinner here. 8216;8216;Maybe we can8217;t blame him, but come November we can replace him, and that8217;s just what we8217;re going to do. We need more from our president than the same old, tired, stale attacks.8217;8217;

Kerry, who has come under attack from his Democratic rivals, as well as from Bush, for receiving more money from lobbyists than any other senator over the past 15 years, said the President is the only special interest candidate in the 2004 presidential race.

Several national polls show Kerry beating Bush in a head-to-head matchup. 8212;LAT-WP
