NEW DELHI, November 1: Vidarbha8217;s Ketan Kaore defied the Railways attack for almost 310 minutes to score an undefeated 94 and with help from Sailesh Harbade 55 and Dheeraj Sharma 46 denied the home team an outright victory in their Central Zone Cooch Behar Trophy league match at Air Force Palam grounds here today.

Forced to follow-on 267 runs behind the Railways8217; first innings total of 372, Vidarbha ended the day at 342 in their second essay. kaore struck 13 fours in his marathon match-saving effort. He shared two fruitful stands of 67 with Harbade and 74 with Dheeraj to earn three points for his team from the draw.

Harbade hit 10 boundaries in his 132-minute knock while Dheeraj had half a dozen hits to the ropes during his 108-minute stay at the crease.

Railways8217; off-spinner Surender Singh finished with five wickets for 96 while left-arm spinner C P Tiwari had three for 33.

Resuming at the overnight score of 115 for three, the Vidarbha players hardly put any resistance, particularly with Surender Singh bowling a perfect line and length. Even as Kaore was resisting at one end, the wickets continue to tumble at regular intervals.
