CHENNAI, Aug 15: Top seed Vijay Kannan of Delhi and second-seeded S Zaman of West Bengal won their semi-final matches in contrasting styles here today to set up a title clash in the MCC-IOB National Junior Hard Court Tennis Championship tomorrow.

While favourite Vijay Kannan had to pull off his best to oust a strong challenge from local lad Manoj Mahadevan 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-4, Zaman had a rather easy outing against high flying Parantap Chaturvedi of Delhi winning 6-2, 6-4.

A disputed point in the decider, which went in favour of Vijay, who was serving 3-4 and leading 40-0, shook the concentration of Manoj, who lost the serve in his next game before the former closed out the game. ResultsBoys singles (semi-finals): Vijay kannan (Delhi) bt Manoj Mahadevan (TN) 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-4; S Zaman (Calcutta) bt Parantap Chaturvedi (Delhi) 6-2, 6-4.
