PUNE, JAN 19: Dreams have a funny habit of coming true when you least expect it to. If you don't believe, please meet Hrishikesh Kanitkar - the man who smashed a boundary of the penultimate ball of the match to give India a sensational victory over Pakistan at Dhaka.Kanitkar had a dream he wanted to play the hero's role in an Indian victory over Pakistan, the rivals who ``bring out the best in you''.With one huge swipe, Kanitkar has more or less fulfilled his dream. For the dream boy, it was ``the best moments of my life''. The stunned Kanitkar adds: ``Actually I cannot explain my feelings right now.''To say that he is stunned is almost an understatement. Here is a cricketer, playing in only his third match and that too against Pakistan, in a situation where even the ice cool would melt. Worse: Kanitkar has played 11 deliveries for his seven runs when a strike-rate of 200 was the order of the day. Two deliveries, three runs, Javagal Srinath walks towards him to and gives him a word of advice: ``Just put bat to ball.'' Saqlain bowls on the leg stump and Kanitkar swipes as hard as he can. Icredibly the ball races to the fence as millions of Indians jump with joy. What was in his own mind at the time? ``You will not believe it, but at that moment I just stopped thinking about it. I simply left everything to God and went for it. As the ball flew across the ropes, I could only remeber one thing - `I have done it!','' says the satisfied Kanitkar. He adds: ``I remember Srinath and Azhar congratulating me. But nothing was registering with me, except for the fact that I had pulled it off. Even I wish I could now remember what they said. But at that time I was completely stunned!"
