LAS VEGAS, AUG 8: Grandmaster Judit Polgar, the highest rated woman in the world, stormed into the fourth round today with a win over Spanish GM Badals Magem in the second game of a third round match in the ongoing World Knockout Chess Championship.

Judit has to win four of the toughest matches of her career to fulfill her dream of winning the male-dominated World Chess Championship, organised by the world chess federation Fide.

The second day of the third round of the 3 million event witnessed clinically precise victories by top seed Vladimir Kramnik, Alexander Khalifman and Vassily Ivanchuk, while second-seeded Alexy Shirov had to undergo the gruelling tie-breakers after his shocking defeat to Brazilian Grandmaster Milos.

Magem employed the Caro-Kann Defence, well-known for its solid nature against the fiercely attacking Judit Polgar. The Hungarian girl went for an attack known after the former world champion Mikhail Botwinnik.

Judit8217;s pieces ran amuck and Magem8217;s King came under pressure. TheSpaniard accepted a poisoned pawn from the Hungarian GM and was soon checkmated in 40 moves.
