Judicial remand for traffic cop

CHANDIGARH, Nov 23: An Assistant Sub Inspector of the Traffic Police, booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, was remanded to judicial custody till December 4 by UT Judicial Magistrate Ist Class Tejwinder Singh today.

The accused, ASI Pal Singh was arrested after a constable with him was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting Rs 50 as bribe from a truck driver at the Press Chowk traffic lights.

A trap was earlier laid by DSP Traffic Devinder Singh Thakur. An overloaded truck, was sent with instructions to the driver to part with a marked currency note.
