VADODARA, July 13: A sessions court on Tuesday reserved the judgment on the bail application of Vallabh Shah, a lensman of a local language daily and an accused in the Govind Surtani murder case, for Thursday.
Pleading Shah’s case in the court, advocate Jagdish Ramani said his client shared an old enmity with Surtani and his family members and that his name was being “dragged” into the murder case. He further contended that at the time of the murder, Shah was busy developing photographs in his office.
Ramani further said that there were discrepancies in the statement given by the family members of the deceased at the SSG Hospital and the police FIR regarding the murder. The advocate also claimed that the deceased’s track record was not unblemished as he was involved in various cheating cases.
The public prosecutor in his contention stated that there were eye witnesses in the murder case according to whom Shah was one of the accused. After hearing the contentions the court reserved the orders till Thursday.
