
CHANDIGARH, Oct 14: Sandy Lehal continued his good form and played consistently to maintain a two stroke lead on the penultimate day of the Second Samarvir Sahi Amateur Golf Championship here today at the Chandigarh Golf Course.
Sandy, carded a successive three over par, 75, taking his three day total to 222. Two over after nine, he dropped another shot on the back nine and narrowly missed a birdie on the 17th to finish three over for the day. Two shots behind was Jasjeet Singh. Saurabh Bahuguna, who was second yesterday, slipped one place down the leader board with his two over par round, 74 taking his three day total to 225.
Harjinder Kang and Simarjeet Singh, who were both tied for second place at the half way stage, played some patchy golf. A five over, 77 from Simarjeet who was one under after the front nine but did not have lady luck by his side coming in, put him fourth place. Harjinder, on the other hand, struggled to find form and his 78 saw him slip to fifth place. Also tied for fifth place is junior golfer Gurbaaz Mann, who had a good, two over par 74, today.
Scores: 222 – Sandy Lehal (75); 224 Jasjeet Singh (72); 225 – Saurabh Bahuguna (74); 228 – Simarjeet Singh (77).
