
PANCHKULA, May 13: Indian cricket team8217;s vice captain Ajay Jadeja and seamer Harvinder Singh found time to inaugurate the Cricket Coaching Centre, Panchkula, established by friend8217; and former Punjab Ranji skipper Krishan Mohan today.
The coaching centre, set up in the Hans Raj Public School ground, Sector 6 here will have 70 boys in the age group of 10-16 years. 8220;These trainees will be given match practice apart from the normal net-practice and we hope that they do well after growing up,8221; said Krishan Mohan, who will be supported in his endeavor by Sanjay Verma, another university level player from Amritsar.
Ajay Jadeja, here in connection with the Coca-Cola Cup game against Bangladesh tomorrow at the PCA Stadium, said that Krishan was a knowledgeable cricketer and he admired his approach. 8220;I am sure he will pass his skills and knowledge to these budding cricketers. It is good that former players are contributing through these ventures. The game will benefit as a result, 8221; Jadeja said.
Harvinder Singh, for whom Krishan was both a mentor and a guide, hailing from the same city 8212; Amritsar 8212; was equally appreciative. 8220;These youngsters are lucky that somebody like Sanjay Verma and Krishan Mohan will be there to guide them. They will have a lot to learn from them,8221; Harvinder felt.
Apart from Sanjay and Krishan, some other cricketers would be requested to train the youngsters from time to time. The trainees will also be given outstation match practice.
8220;We will charge some money from the trainees to cover the expenditure incurred. Maybe, at some stage we might get a sponsor and then we can raise the infrastructure,8221; informed Krishan.
8220;Money is no problem if its going to the right people. we have full confidence on the coaches and will give them full support,8221; said a parent of a trainee.
Ajay Jadeja and Harvinder Singh had to rush back to the team hotel in Chandigarh after obliging the autograph hunters.
