Only last week, the working of all the departments was captured on film. This already has yielded the desired results, particularly for Municipal Commissioner Ganesh Thakur. After taking over charge two months ago, Thakur pulled up various departments for overlooking their responsibility of complying with the audit objections. More recently, he took departments by surprise and according to him he found the work atmosphere 8220;unsatisfactory8221;.

8220;The objective of capturing the working of the departments on film was to record the present state of the offices. I was unhappy with the way the records and files were kept, and also with the unclean atmosphere,8221; Thakur told The Indian Express. 8220;I want the offices to be clean and tidy for a better working atmosphere,8221; he added.

After the shooting now, a meeting of all the department heads will be held to explain them the necessity for cleanliness and other related aspects, Thakur said. Although no time-frame has been fixed for bringing about the changes, the commissioner expressed hope that when the changes take place, he would be able to order another round of shooting to make a comparison of the past and the present.

Thakur had caught two employees whiling time during working hours. He ordered their increments to be stopped. A contractor who was present with the employees was fined Rs 100.
