SURAT, Aug 20: A number of volunteers, carrying banners and posters with messages about AIDS awareness and disastrous effects of harmful habits, took off today on a interstate rally from the railway station.

Organised by the Giants Group to create health awareness among the people, the rallyists would pass through Sachin, Maroli, Navsari, Bilimora, Valsad, Vapi and Bhilad towns by road, before reaching Mumbai.

The rally, which is being organised from Gandhinagar to Mumbai, started off from Mansa in Gandhinagar and the rallyists were accorded a welcome at the Sardar Chowk , where a few more from the city joined in. The rallyists travelled via Ahmedabad, Nadiad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch and Ankleshwar before arriving in the city.
