Fearing the worst that the two prime suspcects in the murder of 31-year-old Infosys executive Vikram Potdar — Kevin Dias and Vicky Manthora — may have fled the country, the Pune police have asked the Interpol to be on alert. Both the suspects hold valid passports which were issued by the Mumbai passport office in 1998.
Though the police are remaining tight-lipped about the entire case, deputy commissioner of polic (Crime) Chandrashekhar Daithankar confirmed that the Interpol had been alerted. ‘‘We have asked the Interpol to be on alert (for the two suspects). We have already sent wireless messages to immigration authorities at all exit points of the country,’’ he said, adding they were continuing with the search for the duo in the country.
Police said six to seven teams comprising assistant police inspectors and SIs have been despatched to various States.
