Interim bail for 4 quot;dismissedquot; ATCs

MUMBAI, FEB 19: The four officials, P N Bahuguna, regional secretary of Air Traffic Controllers8217; Guild, M K Sinha, P Srinivas and Sudhanshu Gupta, who were 8220;not traceable8221; till a while ago, moved an anticipatory bail application and appeared before principal judge of Sessions Court A S Aguiar this evening.

The four had been 8220;summarily8221; dismissed by the government yesterday and warrants issued against them by airport police under various sections of Indian Penal Code.

Reacting to the arrest warrant, Bahuguna said a whip had been issued against the 8220;peaceful ATCs whose safety standards were on par with the rest of the world.8221;

8220;We have decided to fight the decision tooth and nail,8221; he said. People should realise it was not ATCs who were responsible for the industrial unrest but mandarins of airport authorities and policy-makers who had chosen to dismiss 8220;honest8221; officers, Bahuguna added.
