VADODARA, Feb 17: VCCI-99, The Fourth National Industrial Exhibition and Catalogue Show of industrial and allied products and related services, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel and State Minister for Industry Sureshchandra Mehta at the Lakshmi Vilas Palace Grounds on Thursday. A laser show will be the highlight of the inauguration.

More than 500 exhibitors from across the country will participate in the exhibition showcasing a gamut of industries such as engineering, machinery, machine tools and accessories, rubber and plastics, electrical and electronics, testing equipment and instrumentation, automobiles, computers and office equipment, communication, financial institutions, tourism, services, pollution control equipment among others.

More than 400,000 visitors, including foreign participants and delegations, are expected to visit the exhibition.

A special Information Technology Pavilion, with more than 100 participants, has been set up at the exhibition. A series of seminars and conferences on information technology will be held as part of the five-day event.

The exhibition will also include a Vendors8217; Development Information Centre8217;, set up for the benefit of small and medium enterprises.

Sixty-four KBP Internet-leased lines have been provided at the exhibition site by the Software Technology Park of India. Facilities such as Internet stock exchange, Net-meeting, E-Commerce, Internet/Extranet have also been provided.

The exhibition is open for business visitors from 10 am to 4 pm. The general public can visit the exhibition free between 4 pm and 10 pm.
