
CHANDIGARH, SEPT 12: An Indian team will take part in the Asian Schools Tennis Tournament to be held in Jakarta Indonesia from September 19 to 27. The boys and girls were selected during the two-day trials held at National Institute of Sports, Patiala on September 11 and 12.
Announcing the team, School Games Federation of India secretary general PS Chhabra said that the Sports Ministry has cleared the team for the Jakarta championship. The boys team will comprise Sunil Kumar Chandigarh, Sarbarinder Singh Chandigarh, Ashutosh Delhi, Vivian Chhetra Delhi.
Harsimran Kaur Chandigarh, Deepa Gujarat, Vishika Delhi and Itishree Delhi are in the girls team.
SGFI president C L Negi said that the players would now move to Delhi where they would be imparted training on the synthetic courts of the RK Stadium, New Delhi.
