SINGAPORE, FEB 15: National champion Subramanium Raman and ace paddler Chetan Baboor led the charge as India had a spectacular day with all five men winning their opening round singles matches in the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships here on Tuesday.

World top 100 ranked Baboor defeated England8217;s Andrew Baggaley 23-21 21-11 23-21 in a needle-clash to score India8217;s first win of the day. S Raman recorded a comfortable 21-15 21-15 21-8 win over New Zealand8217;s Aaron Winborn and moved into the second round. Arjun Dutta cruised to a 21-11 21-17 21-10 win over Leng Chih Cheng but Arup Basak had to toil and rally hard to beat Nigerian Peter Akinlabi 11-21 21-12 21-19 21-9. Indika Prasad moved into the round of 32 when Sao Ayemojuba of Nigeria gave him a walkover.
