UTRECHT, May 27: Gritty India went down fighting 2-4 against Asian Champions South Korea to finish without a point in their Pool B8217; of the 9th women8217;s World Cup hockey tournament, here today.

The Korean scorers were Woo Hyun Jung 2 Lee Eun Young and Choi Kwan Sook. For India, Pritam Thakran scored both the goals. The Asian champions, who led 2-0 at half-time, finished third in the pool with nine points from five outings, having won three matches.

AUSSIES CRUISE: Australia handed out a 3-0 drubbing to Germany en route to the semi-finals of the women8217;s World Cup hockey tournament, here on Tuesday.

The fourth straight win, put the Aussies on 12 points in Pool A, while Germany, on nine points, still need at least a draw with Scotland in their last league game, to qualify for the semis.
