India advanced to the main round of AFC U-16 championship 2008 beating Bhutan 4-0 in their final group C qualifying match in Damman today.

Akshay Vimalkumar hit two goals in the 68th and 83rd minutes, while Ashish Chhetri 34 and Abhishek Das 36 also scored, according to information reaching here. With 13 points from five matches, India finished second in their group behind leaders Iraq who defeated Saudi Arabia 3-0 in their last league match.

Meanwhile, India8217;s U-19 team squandered a 2-0 lead to go down 2-3 to Lebanon in their Group B opening match of the AFC Under-19 qualification tournament at Paas Stadium in Tehran, Iran.They next play Bahrain on Friday.
