New Delhi, Oct 7: The United States and India on Friday announced a set of programmes that would increase cooperation between US, and the Indian public and private sectors to promote e-commerce between the two countries.

These programmes were developed in close consultation with the US and Indian business communities, and are an out-growth of the US-India commercial dialogue. quot;We are working with the Indian government and the private sector to empower more Indian and American citizens through their connection to the Internet,quot; Assistant secretary Michael Copps said. quot;Small and medium-sized businesses, in particular, can benefit from valuable opportunities for education, government, healthcare services, and communication available via the Internet.quot;

According to an official release, specifically, elements of the expanded cooperation are expected to include a host of things.
