No Indians in Cup match referees panel
Mumbai:
Neither Hanumant Singh nor Gundappa Viswanath, India8217;s representatives on the International Cricket Council8217;s ICC match referees panel, have found a place in the six-strong panel of referees for the World Cup in England.

The panel comprises Peter Burge Australia, Raman Subba Row England, John Reid New Zealand, Talat Ali Pakistan, Ranjan Madugalle Sri Lanka and Cammie Smith West Indies.

On the officiating side India8217;s lone representative would be former captain S Venkataraghavan who is on the panel of 12 field umpires.

White water call
New Delhi:
Twelve teams, including an all-women one and an international squad from France, would be participating in the sixth white water challenge beginning on April 23 at Rishikesh, the organisers today said.

The three-day event is a sport in which each person aboard an inflatable raft or a fibreglass kayak oars to race through the river. Two hundred-metre raft and kayak sprints willbe held at Shivpuri on April 23 along with a 2000-metre raft marathon which will finish at Brahmpuri.
