
National Games in jeopardy
NEW DELHI: The oft-postponed Manipur National Games suffered another setback with the State Olympic Body dissociating itself from the organising committee of the Games scheduled to be held at Imphal from February 14 to 25.However, the Indian Olympic Association was optimistic of a prompt holding of the Games with IOA chief Suresh Kalmadi saying the matter was 8220;trivial8221; and would be sorted out soon.
Manipur Olympic Association MOA withdrew from the Games Organising Committee NGOC in protest against the state government order that none of the MOA members in various NGOC sub-committees should be allowed to handle financial matters.

NEW DELHI: Top seed Farah Khan Kar outclassed Sri Devi Ker 3-0 105-85, 123-61, 91-81 in her quarter-final match in the seventh Women8217;s Nationals Billiards Championship. Anuja Thakur Mah created an upset when she defeated former champion Kamala C Babu MP, 58-111, 109-69, 90-58.
