BANGALORE: Karnataka8217;s Kannan Krishnamurthy will be the sole Indian representative in the 15-member umpires8217; panel during the forthcoming Asian Games at Bangkok Dec 6-20. This was conveyed to Krishnamurthy by the secretary general of the Indian Hockey Federation, K Jothikumaran, on Sunday.
The IHF had recommended Krishnamurthy8217;s name to officiate at the Games, which was accepted by the Asian Hockey Federation and AHF Secretary Datoo Alagendra had confirmed the same, the letter from IHF said.
An officer with the Reserve Bank of India, Krishnamurthy will be the first umpire from Bangalore after VJ D8217;Cruz, who officiated at the Bangkok Games in 1970.
