Poor ticket sales for ODI final
CALCUTTA: The Cricket Association of Bengal have started selling the tickets for the final of the Coca-Cola Cup cricket tournament on May 31, but the response so far has been quot;very poorquot;. In fact, the CAB has not even been able to persuade their affiliated units to pick up their quotas.
This time the CAB will have to depend on public sale as the affiliated units have bought tickets worth only Rs 6 lakh. The CAB is banking on Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Azharuddin and Saurav Ganguly8217;s popularity.
In spite of the lukewarm response, CAB is confident of a crowd of atleast 50,000. The tickets have been priced at Rs 300 and Rs 200. The demand, as usual, is more for the lower denomination.
