During his recent visit to UK, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Anbumani Ramadoss has pressed for mutual recognition of medical degrees, sources in health ministry said.

The minister, who called on Hugh Taylor, Permanent Secretary of British Health Department, also initiated a political dialogue with British authorities on the issue, a senior official in the Ministry said.

The British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) expressed its gratitude to the minister for taking the initiative in this regard.
