Panel to promote use of CNG
The State Government has appointed a committee to promote the use of compressed natural gas CNG in public and private transport systems. The committee will be headed by Transport Commissioner and will comprise of nine other members. The committee will meet once a month and has been empowered to summon any of the officers if required.
rehabilitation of fire victims: THE State Government has decided to rehabilitate the residents of 436 slums who were affected by the fire at Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Dharavi on December 11, 1999. The decision was made by Housing Minister Rohidas Patil.
The affected residents will also provided with new accommodation.
