8216;8216;Aapka naam kya hai.8217;8217; Till five days ago, getting this simple sentence right was all that she was worried about. Never mind the flawed Hindi, the 27-year-old from Durban, who was allegedly raped in Mumbai on December 28, was kicked about her effort.

8216;8216;She was making an earnest attempt at learning Hindi and carried Hindi tapes with her all the time,8217;8217; said Pradeep Mishra, administrator of the Andheri-based Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Academy. 8216;8216;Whenever she met someone, she would drop this line.8217;8217;

An aspiring actress, the woman had enrolled for the three-month course in acting, voice modulation, dramatics, mime, singing, yoga and dance at Kapoor8217;s acting lab. And was referred to Kapoor by Tiwariji, business manager to actors Feroz Khan, Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan and Riteish Deshmukh.

Tiwar remembered her as a soft-spoken and ambitious girl. 8216;8216;I met her eight months ago at J W Marriott. She came across as a well-mannered girl from a well-to-do family,8217;8217; he said. 8216;8216;She asked me all kinds of questions about getting a break in Bollywood. But I told her to learn Hindi first and advised her to enroll in Kapoor8217;s acting classes.8217;8217; In class, she preferred her own company. 8216;8216;She is quite reserved and also a little gullible when it came to people,8217;8217; added Mishra.

She didn8217;t take Hindi lightly and listed it as her most preferred language followed by English and French in her admission form.

Of Indian origin8212;she holds a multiple-entry visa8212;the woman has been in Mumbai since October 2005 and resides in an apartment in Lokhandwala, Andheri. According to her lawyer Falguni Brahmabhatt, she8217;s a graduate in media marketing management. Her father is a businessman based in Westville, Durban, and she has two elder sisters.

Serious about her Bollywood aspirations, she paid Rs 35,000 for the acting course and ensures she catches almost all major Hindi films.
