Consumer Day
As part of celebrations of the Consumer Day, Grahak Panchayat, Chandigarh will be organising seminars at Gandhi Samarak Bhawan, Sector 16, on March 21. Punjab Food and Supplies Minister will be the chief guest on the occasion. Dr Bajrang Lal Gupta, president, Akhil Bharatiya Gram Panchayat and Ram Lal Gupta, former member, State Commission for redressal of consumer complaints will be the speakers.

Death mourned
Members of the faculty, students and staff of the Government College for Girls, Sector 11, mourned the demise of Champa Mangatrai. The deceased had worked as a lecturer and later headed the English Department of the College, a press release issued by the principal Vijay Lakshmi Sharma said. In a separate press release, the PU Vice Chancellor Prof MM Puri has also condoled the death.

107 donate blood
Nearly 107 persons donated blood at the 12th Makhan Singh Memorial Blood Donation Camp organised by the Punjab University Students8217; Union PUSU at the PU Students8217; Centre. Meanwhile, in a press release issued , PUSU president Lakhjeet Singh has criticised the fee hike proposed by the PU committee.
