Complaint
A complaint has been registered by Railnagar Cooperative Housing Society president Mangalsinh Sodaha with the sub-divisional magistrate against the Rajkot Municipal Corporation, the Pollution Control Board and president of the Sewarage Water Lift Irrigation Scheme saying sewerage water leaking out of a pipeline was causing health problems in the area. The complaint says that the pipeline which carries sewerage water of the city to checkdam near Aji is leaking at many places creating puddles of dirty water at many places due to which the residents of about 120 houses of Railnagar No 1 have been exposed to health hazard. Sodha said an open drain is passing from near the society which spreads foul and unbearble smell. This drain ends in Aji river where, the water is being stored by check dam built for the purpose.

Investment
Bhuj: In view of the Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce8217;s threat to launch agitation over less investment by Kandla Port Trust, especially in the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited SSNNL, the KPT will now invest Rs 35 crore in SSNNL bonds. A cheque will be presented by chairman H L Kadlabju to Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel in Gandhidham on Friday. KPT financial adviser A Janardhan Rao says the KPT has already invested Rs 55 crore in five bonds. 8220;With our total investment of Rs 90 crore, we are top invester to the Narmada bonds in the border district8221;.

Gutted
Five kiosks outside the State Transport bus station in Bhachau were gutted in a fire on Wednesday. A report said the loss was put at Rs 17.54 lakh.

Dharna
Ahmedabad: The weaver families, who have been sitting on dharna in Gandhinagar since March 22, have threatened to hang themselves on Monday if their problems are not sorted out till then. They have been opposing government8217;s policy to give land to landlords to till on preferential basis. Vaghabhai Kanabhai Chauhan, president of Kotdapith Harijan Community Agriculture Co-operative Ltd, said that it was better to die then to become slaves.

Notification
City police commissioner P C Pandey, has banned carrying of tube lights or breaking them during Tajiya procession on April 27. In a notification, Pandey said the Manat Ka Tajiya will be taken out before the main procession and their heights should be restricted up to three feet only. He said these Tajiyas should be immersed in the karbala before 12 noon. Besides, he said no Tajiyas would be permitted to join the main Tajiya procession.

Inaugurated
Mayor Joitaram Patel inaugurated the new school building of Municipal Primary School No 2 at Naroda Road on Thursday. The building was constructed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh, said AMC standing committee chairman Dharmendra Shah. Municipal commissioner B K Sinha, MLA Amrish Patel, Municipal School Board chairman Kaushik Mehta and deputy mayor Manjulaben Patadia were also present.

Narcotics haul
The city crime branch on Wednesday arrested Mohammed Yunus Abdul Rehman Shaikh with 8.700 gm of brown sugar worth Rs 84,000 near Kamkoriwala building in Mirghawad of Panchkuva area. Assistant city crime police commissioner Subhash Trivedi said that Mohammed was carrying brown sugar in small packets. Police also recovered Rs 995 from him. The crime branch is further investigating the case.
