Keshubhai to inaugurate pipeline
Rajkot: The Wankaner-Rajkot water pipeline will be inaugurated on October 19 by Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel. Mayor Manjulaben Patel will make a visit to Gandhinagar on October 14 and invite the Chief Minister. Work on the pipeline from Gauridad to Rajkot is almost over. Only two kilometres of the pipeline remain to be laid and that is expected to be completed in two or three days, Manjulaben said.

Shop raided
Income-Tax officers raided a famous chaniya choli shop near Rajshri cinema in the city on Tuesday morning. IT sleuths took up the raid on the advice of Income Tax Deputy Commissioner Vatsyayana under Rule 133 of the I-T Act.

Celebrations
City BJP will celebrate the swearing-in ceremony of the Atal Behari Vajpayee Government at a function in the party office on Wednesday morning. The office-bearers of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation, the city unit office bearers, members of the State Assembly and other party leaders will participate in the celebration.

Programme
State Social Welfare Minister Gabbaji Thakkar declared open the self-employment training programme taken up by the Bhavnath Mitra Mandal Trust in the city on Tuesday. The trust will conduct training programmes for beauticians and on sewing, embroidery, hand stitching, painting and ceramics. About 300 women are participating in the training programmes.

Ahmedabad: Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel on Tuesday held consultations WITH the top brass of an Israel-based company, Tahal Engineering and Consultancy, regarding water management in Gujarat.

Reconstitutes
The State Government on Tuesday reconstituted the Gujarat Rajya Sainik bOARD under the chairmanship of the Governor Sunder Singh Bhandari.
