DELHI, February 5: Maharashtra chief secretary P Subramanayam has stressed the need to develop social infrastructure in the country to root out multiple problems like poverty, population, illiteracy and child destitution. The chief secretary was inaugurating an exhibition-cum-seminar on social infrastructure organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry. CII.

Pointing out that the country lacks social infrastructure even as the world is on a threshold of jumping into the next millennium, he said government, non-government organisations and corporates should join hands in developing adequate social infrastructure in the country.
