PESHAWAR, Nov 27: A century partnership between Ijaz Ahmed and Yousuf Youhanna helped Pakistan recover from an early scare on the first day of the first cricket Test against Zimbabwe today. Thanks to the 118-run fourth wicket stand between Ahmed (87) and Youhanna, Pakistan finished play today at 272 for six.
Youhanna, playing in his 6th Test, was unbeaten on 74 — bettering his previous best of 64 also against Zimbabwe in March this year. The right-handed Youhanna, who hit medium-fast Henry Olonga for three attractive square cuts to point boundary in four deliveries, hammered 13 fours during his unbeaten 74 off 153 balls in 211 minutes.
