RAJKOT, April 26: The Saurashtra Centre of Indian Institute of Architects IIA8217;s exhibition on architectural and interior material concludes at Virani School ground tomorrow. An exhibition of paintings by local artists is also on.

The event has brought architects, builders, civil engineers, project managers, businessmen and policy-makers face-to-face with vendors of building materials. It has also explored opportunities of mutual interest between manufacturers and users organisations.

Centre representative Yasheen Bhaskar says architects are aware of the business opportunities and needs in Saurashtra and accept the latter in general and Rajkot in particular to witness proliferating urbanisation. There will be a growing demand for civil supplies, houses and land, he added. The city, which is set to be the new centre for industrial development in the State will automatically have a snowballing effect on constructions, he adds. Bhaskar claims the exhibition witnessed a property show initiated by builders which indicate a flurry of construction.

AIM has also organised the painting show for the first time for interior decorators, designers and art lovers.
