While details have not been worked out, the new series of aerial wargames would be held on Indian soil and are expected to take off within three years. The Vice Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal P V Naik, said the exercise would match up to Red Flag and will be one of the best in the world.
8220;We are working towards having a multinational air force training exercise which will be quite advanced. Providing the best of air battle scenarios,8221; Air Marshal P V Naik said during an interaction with mediapersons on IAF8217;s performance at Red Flag.
The officer said while the Red Flag exercise was a good learning experience and showcased IAF8217;s ability to adapt to new operating scenarios, India8217;s participation at such large scale exercises would be limited as they interfere with the standard training schedules of the air force.
Naik also said India would participate in exercises of such scale only once in five years due to the large costs involved in the training. As reported earlier, India spent close to Rs 100 crore to send across a participating force of 8 Su 30 MKI fighters and their complement for Red Flag.
