I was threatened five times: Dasmunsi

Indicating the intensity of the TV channel wars, Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi on Thursday created a flutter in the Lok Sabha by saying that he had been threatened five times for trying to remove the 8220;irregularities8221; in TRP ratings.

8220;TRP is a gameplan. In a nation of 100 crore population, meters were installed only in selected houses ignoring the entire Bihar and the northeastern region,8221; he said replying to the discussion of Demand for Grants of his ministry for 2008-09.

The minister said 8220;I received threat five times,8221; adding that one of the BJP MPs had enlightened him about the malpractices in Television Rating Points TRP as that member had also received a threat.
