Actress Eesha Koppikar said on Wednesday that she does not regret dancing to the ‘Khallas’ song in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Company’ which catapulted her to fame but also got the item girl tag attached to her name.
“I agree that since I was being labelled as an item girl, I did not get a chance to showcase my acting capabilities. But, doing Khallas was not a wrong move. I had nothing to lose as professionally, I was going through a bad phase. People who worked for me misled me in doing the wrong films and I trusted them blindly. Some did not get released while some others just came and went without a whimper,” said Eesha in Mumbai.
The actress said she did not get the right opportunities because there was nobody to guide her. However, Eesha said she believes that thinking about the past is to forfeit your future.
“This is the best phase in my film. I have six movies of different genres lined up for release in the next few months. I play characters of different shades in them,” the actress said.
In ‘Hello’ releasing this week, she plays a call centre executive aspiring to be a model while in ‘Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi’, releasing next month, she said she essays a soft spoken, simple, girl-next-door who is progressive in her thoughts.
“This will be the first time, audiences will see me in a non-glamorous role and I am playing the solo female lead for the first time in my career,” Eesha added.
