
Even as the man-hunt to trace the missing Norwegian skier, Franciska Rongne, in Gulmarg continued for the third consecutive day, a three-member team of Norwegian Embassy on Friday reached Srinagar to look into the efforts being made by the J-K Government to rescue her.
8220;The three representatives of the Norwegian embassy were briefed about the entire rescue operations,8221; J-K8217;s Director Tourism Farooq Ahmed Shah said. 8220;After landing in Srinagar, the trio rushed to Gulmarg to examine the efforts to rescue Rongne.8221;
The embassy team held meetings with the Tourism Director, police officials and various local guides during their stay in Gulmarg. Shah briefed them about the various rescue teams constituted to trace the missing skier.
A massive search operation was started by the tourism officials immediately after they came to know that Rongne didn8217;t return to hotel on Tuesday. This is the second time when Rongne has gone missing in the area. A year earlier, she was buried in a snow avalanche with two others, and was rescued after six days.
Meanwhile, the J-K police have also questioned the hotel staff and local guides for any information on the skier.
