HUDCO told to extend loans to three MCs

ROOPNAGAR, Jan 17: The district administration today asked the Housing and Urban Development Corporation HUDCO to extend loans to the Roopnagar, Morinda and Kurali municipal councils in order to improve the sanitary conditions before the Khalsa tercentenary functions. An official spokesman said that at a meeting attended by Municipal Corporation officials and presidents and Housing and Urban Development Corporation representatives, Deputy Commissioner Kulbir Singh Sidhu asked the officials to complete all arrangements by February 25.

He called for repair of signboards and streetlights along the main roads and told the Municipal Corporation officials to get the buildings within their respective townships painted white.

Sidhu also expressed concern over the absence of a fire brigade and to meet any eventuality during the event, he asked officials to arrange for one such team in advance.
