What kind of exercise do you do? I go to the gym, do a lot of kickboxing. I do a lot of stretching and lightweights too. What is your fitness mantra? In the industry in which I work, fitness is all-important. There’s no getting away from it. However, even if that was not the case, staying fit is absolutely essential. Fitness leads to positive thinking by releasing endorphins. So, it’s essential for both the mind as well as the body. It’s a different high altogether. What kind of exercises do you do? I go to the gym, do a lot of kickboxing. Presently, however, I’m taking a break from kickboxing, but will resume it in some time. At the gym, I do a lot of stretching and lightweights. I hit the gym for about an hour-and-a-half almost everyday. Do you watch your diet as well? That depends. There are days when I live only on health food. Then, when I feel fit, I start indulging in other stuff as well. I think it’s very important to occasionally pamper yourself; or what’s the point of the entire exercise? What do you indulge yourself with? I have a weakness for Indian sweets. Not chocolates and ice creams, but lots of Indian mithai—from kaju ki barfi to Bengali mishti. I indulge myself for a while, till I start feeling guilty; then I go back to my health food. What does your health food consist of? I have a lot of dal and vegetables. But, rice and potatoes are a strict no-no. I concentrate on rotis instead. In summer, it’s very important to have curd and lots of water. I make sure I’m never lax about drinking enough water. Who is your ideal when it comes to fitness? It has to be my boyfriend. I wish I could be as diligent as he is. He can toil endlessly and never give up. He’s absolutely fantastic, but I know I can’t be like him. Though, he does inspire me a lot. —AS TOLD TO SUNAINA KUMAR
