Hollywood8217;s Hotshots

It8217;s not clear where Demi Moore and Sylvester Stallone fit on the list or whether they make the grade at all, but New York Daily News gossip maven Mitchell Fink says Ulmer singles out both stars for their tendency to show up for work with hefty entourages in tow. Fink also makes note of the book8217;s bottom 10: Helena Bonham-Carter No 191, Halle Berry, Jean Reno, Vince Vaughn, Andy Garcia, Elisabeth Shue, Greg Kinnear, Geoffrey Rush, Ian McKellen, and, last of all, Steven Seagal.

Hollywood Hot List is an outgrowth of the author8217;s The Hot List, an annual industry index that measures the commercial clout of nearly 2,000 movie stars and directors filmmakers are excluded from the new book from around the globe. Using the Ulmer Scale, the hefty guidebook rates stars based on such key considerations as bankability, professionalism, career management, willingness to travel and promote, acting talent, and acting range.

The mass-market version is a slim, 240-page paperback available for pre-order from various online retailers for a mere 11.16. Incidentally, even hot lists are subject to our society8217;s mania for comparison: Hollywood Hot List8216;s Amazon.com sales rank is a less-than-sterling 1,308,579.
