
An alert was sounded in the city on Friday following Thursday8217;s terror strike on the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer that left two persons dead and 17 others injured.
According to DIG Hari Shankar Shukla, the district and police administration has been put on a high alert after the Ajmer dargarh blast and an additional force has been deployed in the sensitive areas prior to the Eid festival.
Stick checking would be done around Eidgaah and Badi Masjid areas, where police force will be deployed a day before the Eid, Shukla said.
He said the city has been divided into three 8211; eastern, western and rural 8211; regions where PAC, tear-gas and anti-sabotage squads have been deployed.
Moreover, entry of all kinds of vehicles has been restricted around the place of worship, Shukla said.
